Fabelab is a playful organic Scandinavian children’s interior brand that believes in creating high quality, innovative and responsibly made products for a cosy and creative home. From their Copenhagen studio, founder and head designer, Michaela Weisskirchner-Barfod, designs products that encourage curiosity and imagination. Fabelab products are intended to be multipurpose and grow with the family, gathering stories and memories along the way.

Weisskirchner-Barfod is an Austrian architect living and working in Copenhagen, Denmark. She and her small team of talented designers embrace Scandinavian minimalist design principles, taking inspiration from the stories of people around her, her background as an architect and stage designer, and her two young girls who continuously push for imaginative and purposeful playthings.

Being sustainable is something they truly mean! From the beginning, Michaela has made an effort to keep an honest and sustainable approach to the design and production of the Fabelab collections, and as she says: “At Fabelab we believe that when it comes to sustainability every big and small step along the way helps to create a better planet for our kids.” Sustainable design is about using the right materials, ensuring proper treatment of workers, as well as the lifespan of the product.

Their products are always created using 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, and their fillings are organic cotton, corn fiber, or recycled polyester.
For shipping and packaging materials they use biodegradable bags to protect the products during transport.
