The story of Woolgrass Farm began when designer Camie Wiles was thirteen years old. Fascinated by the Amish way of life, Camie became penpals with a young girl in an Amish community in Pennsylvania. That relationship became a lifelong friendship. When Camie & her husband built their home in Eliot, Maine, they collaborated with her friend's family to build an Amish timberframe house, and Woolgrass Farm was established. Overlooking the open fields from the loft of her home, Camie makes each doll in her collection and clothes them in delightful handmade outfits. Inspired by the authenticity of the Amish way, she creates her dolls in a minimalist, simplistic style that lends an heirloom quality to each one. Due to the handcrafted nature of her creations, the final products may differ slightly from the images shown in the listings.
